Expedition Loap Solo 2006česká verze Crossing of the largest European glacier Vatnajökull - solo and unsupported

I should write all day without computer. It would be more cogent. Although I consider myself a computer addict – my day starts with turning on the pc, not with brushed teeth – even I had enough of constant sitting in front of monitor during last six months. So when Jirka (the beefcake on the photo) asked me on Friday if I would like to go rock climbing to Srbsko, I was determined.
The meeting time was at 7am in Pardubice and there were six of us who came. Jirka, Ondra, Monika and I plus crazy driver, dog Sames or Sabes – I can’t even recall the name of “the pilot”, excuse me, driver, or that dog that occupied the whole back of the estate wagon and was drooling on my backpack the whole time. We arrived in Srbsko at 10am and warmed up on a small, app. 25 m high rock wall. I climbed about five routes, one route even leading. It wasn’t anything difficult, maybe 5+, but it was quite performance for me. I wanted to make an excuse that I’m going to Iceland soon and a broken leg or similar injury would not be good at all but the truth is, I am simply scared. I usually climb by myself using a self belaying device so I’m not used to leading at all.
After lunch we moved a bit further to Alcazar quarry where we managed to do at least another 6 routes. I followed again, asking myself how I accomplished to climb solo almost all the routes in this quarry some time ago. And I could do it only one year after I fell and consequently broke three discs in my spine. At 4pm we all had enough. I had sore feet from the climbing shoes and in addition to it my leader got tired. Others were also lying on the grass and so it was decided we call it a day.
On the way we stopped to get a huge fried cheese. Before dusk we were already home. And I hitchhiked from Pardubice! For Saturday evening when nobody realy goes anywhere, it was quite success!
It was a nice day – I turn on the computer still wearing my backpack – I did have a chance to take off my shoes.

This expedition is not about setting a record or about being first in something. It is much more important for me to give an example that inside, we have strength and abilities to reach our goals. I would like to show that with our own will, our goals can be achieved, even though it may seem almost impossible at the beginning.
You're not gonna leave such an empty space here, right?
